EYGate

EYGate is the latest product in the EY range. This unit provides Full Igate function when attached to a suitable TNC such as the ever popular Kantronics KPC3 or KPC3+.

The unit attaches to the APRS-IS server and can relay APRS packet from the Internet to RF and/or from RF to Internet.

This makes it possible to deploy an APRS digipeater at any remote site with full Igate functionallity. The unit utilises the GPRS network to connect to the APRS-IS network.

The EYGate is still in the testing phase and prelimiary results are promising.  The unit was designed with simplicity of installation and operation in mind. Autonomous functioning at a remote site was paramount in the design.

The EYGate prototype is currently being tested as ZS6EY-GT in the Vaal area under the digi callsign ZS0VAL.
